Wakering Blacks move into second spot with a game in hand.

Wakering Blacks won all 3 matches at the second round tournament of the Essex Walking Football League at Melbourne Park Chelmsford.

Blacks first match was against Chelmsford Clarets led by Spencer Pratten the England 60’s captain. Blacks superior pass and move game saw Chelmsford defend deep with an occasional attack well marshaled by Blacks England defenders Mark Withers, John Burkett and Paul Pinch. Blacks other England players Andre Douglas and Paul Tregent were dominant throughout. Blacks created chance after chance but were denied by Chelmsford’s stubborn keeper. Andrew Douglas broke the deadlock with a well placed strike. Wakering 1 Chelmsford 0

Blacks played Billericay in match 2 and run out 1-0 winners through a brilliant assist from Gary Jackson to set up Paul Tregent. The scoreline does not reflect the game which but for exceptional saves of the Billericay’s keeper, would have been a trouncing.

Blacks final game saw them camped in Chelmsford Blues half for the entire game. Paul Tregent netted 4 and Andrew Douglas netted 2 to see Wakering to a 6-0 victory and lift then into second in the table.
