Wakering 50’s played in the second round of tournaments in the EWFL Southern division 25 May 2019 winning 2 games and losing 1.
The first game against Concorde Blues started with Paul Wells up front and Peter Henry in midfield with Andy Chambers. The system was not working so Paul Wells was moved to midfield which allowed Andy Chambers to push up and score a well taken goal. With the system working far better Peter Henry had more time on the ball which he put to good use scoring Wakering’s 2nd goal. Wakering 2 Concorde Blues 0
The second game against Concorde Yellows saw Wakering dominate the game from the start with a good passing game leading to several attempts on the Concorde goal. Eventually Wakering put together 2 outstanding moves from which Paul Wells scored twice with well taken goals. Wakering 2 Concorde Yellows 0
The third game was against Eastwood Falcons who Wakering had beaten previously 4-0. That perhaps was Wakering’s downfall by taking the game far to easy in the first 5 minutes which allowed Eastwood to score twice and hold on for 16 minutes. Wakering dominated the game after going 2 down with 80% possession and not allowing Eastwood any attacking possession. Wakering forged out 5 excellent attempts on the Eastwood goal 2 hitting the post and 3 being well saved by the goalkeeper who kept Eastwood in the game. Eastwood 2 Wakering 0
