Wakering 50’s player manager Dave Willis, led a small select group of players to win the Essex Walking Football League title. Dave Willis was overjoyed with winning the league title, especially proud as he only had an 8-man squad to choose from, the smallest in the league of 11 teams, who battled for every point.
Wakering 60’s had an outstanding season winning 17 of their 18 matches and drawing 1 without conceding a goal. They followed this up by winning the cup, the only team in the Essex Walking Football League’s history to have completed a league and cup double. Manager Paul Pinch said that he was overwhelmed with the achievement and looked forward continued success nest season.
