Wakering Blacks started their league campaigns with 3 games unbeaten

Wakering Blacks opened the defense of the league title with 2 wins and draw. First up was Padrington Pirates who Blacks beat 5-0 with a hat-trick from Andrew Douglas and a brace from Paul Tregent. The blacks were in complete control going close on at least 7 more occasions, hitting the post 3 times with Pirates keeper making 4 excellent saves.

Blacks then played Wakering Yellows in a highly competitive match which saw both sides playing good football. Yellows were awarded a penalty for a foul on Pete Sarfas who stepped and took a low hard shot which was saved brilliantly by Alan Kumrou. Blacks then took control of the game eventually winning 2-0 with goals from Andrew Douglas and Mark Withers.

Blacks final game was against Norwich. This was fiercely contested with both sides playing good football canceling each other out. Late into the second half Norwich scored but Blacks then went straight onto the attack leveling within a minute through Paul Tregent. The match finishing 1-1
