Wakering’s 60’s team hosted the 2nd round of the National Cup at Eastwoodbury Lane 2 July 2019 against Herne Bay who had already won the East Kent league and beat their 1st round opponents 9-0.
Wakering put out their unbeaten team and controlled the game despite their opponents aggressive play. Peter Henry scored a well crafted goal in the first half to lead 1-0. The second half saw Jim Butterflied sin binned for 2 minutes but Wakering remained disciplined with excellent defensive performance’s from Paul Pinch and Mark Withers (man of the match)
