Wakering over 60’s sitting second in the league 1 point behind the leaders but with a game in hand needed to win all 4 matches to regain top spot. Continuing their unbeaten run with and excellent inter passing game beat Little Oakley 1-0, Southend B 5-0, Grays 3-0 and Southend A 2-0.
Wakering new players Paul Pinch and Pater Sarfas added both quality and scoring chances with both having good debuts. Paul Pinch in particular maintained a strong defensive formation allowing more freedom for David Hampson, Peter Henry and John Burkett in midfield. Gary Jackson played a strong game marauding up an down with Liam Liddy making several good assists. Wakering’s goalkeeper Walter Previ again was not beaten and pulled off one outstanding save.
