Butterfield scores 4 as Wakering 65’s move into second spot

Wakering’s latest round of league fixtures at Billericay 10 May 2022 resulted in 3 wins and 1 loss.

Wakering’s first game was against Chelmsford City Blues who were below them in the table at the start of the day. Dispite dominating the match from start to finish Wakering failed to score, mainly due to an incredible display by the Chelmsford keeper. With about 4 minutes left to play a Chelmsford player somehow managed a long distance toe punt from the left wing which just crept in off the right post to win the match 1- 0

Wakering’s second match was a 1-0 victory against Paringdon Pirates which was particularly sweet as they reversed the 2-0 loss in the first round of fixtures.

Wakering followed that with a very comfortable 5-0 win against Billericay.

The last game against Orient was going completely to plan scoring two very good goals until Wakering gave a penalty away a few minutes from time. However Wakering went on to manage the game out for a good 2-1 win.
